WRESTLING


Most of you have learned about wrestling through watching it on TV and watching famous wrestlers become Hollywood movie stars. However, Wrestling was around long before, Duane Johnson (The Rock) and Hulk Hogan. The sport has been said to be fraudulent, many state that it is acting and fake, but there is a certain aspect to wrestling that is known to be real. The actual physical strength that wrestlers have is real and the required amounts of stamina, all real. Does the public honestly care if it is all staged, not really? WWF (World Wrestling Federation) is making billions of dollars a year to stage live shows and televised matches and the world is watching. The ratings for these shows are through the roof and ticket sales, well figure it out.

The point of this sport is to have two opponents enter a ring and only one will come out a winner. The object is to pin down your opponent, so that he/she is unable to move from their position, once a count has been completed the bell rings and the referee calls the match. This sport is very popular with schools; as an extra curricular activity and has a large population of youngsters who take it very seriously. College scholarships are offered for top notch wrestling students and pay the way for many of our youth, so that they can obtain a first class education. The Olympics even recognize wrestling and medals can be won, for its skill. Wrestling is recognized all over the world and is said to have originated in the Africa. Tribes utilize a form of wrestling to win land, women and even game, this sport decides if they are men or not.

In the United States, you will find stores that sale wrestling paraphernalia and kids running around with t-shirts and caps, advertising their favorite wrestler. Some years ago, women started to venture into the world of wrestling and are now making millions a year off their performance. Many wrestlers are household names and are admired; as much as any Hollywood actor. You will find kids wrestling in their back yards and even in the streets, just to prove they are the strongest, not so distant from the African tribes.

There is a lot of money to be made in the world of wrestling, many young wrestlers are trying to get more involved, and I guess you could say, become famous. For millions of dollars a year, who would not want to give wrestling a try? However, do not under estimate the skill that is required, there is a technique to wrestling. The sport has rules and regulations; just as any other sport and you must train to learn. The physical strength that you have to train your body to have and the stamina that must be maintained to survive a few rounds in the wring is no easy task. There are plenty of websites; which are dedicated to the world of wrestling, some are for entertainment and others are strictly discussing the skill of the sport.
